			Brian Cefai was born on 18 Febuary, 1955. Comes from [[St Julian’s]]. He was a Singer and a Choral Director.

	~~Aside from his own career, Cefai~~ is ~~best known~~ for ~~discovering the tenor~~ [[~~Joseph Calleja~~]] ~~at the age of 16~~.		He is one of the few maltese leading soloists who gained recognition for his talents not only in [[Malta]] but also overseas.

He studied vocal technique under [[Antoinette Miggiani]] and under [[Blagovesta Dobreva]]. He sang leading tenor roles in various oratorios and sacred work’s including a run of 18 performances of Mro.[[Charles Camilleri]] ‘Pawlu ta’ Malta’, with lyrics by Prof. [[Olivier Friggier]] who where also features in it LP or Cd recordings.
			He also sang in ‘Il-Fidwa tal-Bdiewa’. His repertoire includes operas, oratories, cantatas, and songs of International and local composers like ‘L’ Amico Fritz’, ‘La Traviata’, ‘La Boheme’, ‘Les Comtes d’ Hoffman’, ‘Pagliacci’, ‘Adriana Lecouvreur’, ‘Luisa Miller’, and ‘Lucia di Lamermoor’, as well as leading tenor roles in operas and oratorios written by Maltese Composers, Charles Camilleri and [[Carmelo Pace]].

			Cefai holds a diploma in singing from the Accademia del Mediterraneo. In March 1986 he gave a recital at Queen Elizabeth Hall, London, while in January, 1989, he sang at a concert in Earl’s Court during in London Boat Show.

			Every December from 1986 to 1993 he sang at the town hall in Royal Leamington Spa. Warwickshire in Opera gala recitals following upon the concert series ‘Prelude to Christmas’.

			He also took part in Handel’s Messiah in Kenilworth.

			In 1990 he founded the [[Amadeus Chamber Choir]] which he also directs. It has established itself as one of Malta’s leading choirsand it has performed in England and Germany.
