	This was not the first time that the Flame group participated in such philantropic events. In fact – They had organized two - 24 & 25 Hour Music Marathons in Aid of the Physically Handicapped at the Belle View Bar & Restaurant, Mellieħa. The first event was held between the 29 & the 30 November 1980 as a curtain raiser to 1981, which was the year declared by the United Nations as the international year dedicated to the handicapped. This Music Marathon consisted of 24 hours of continuous music played by the Flame group, where funds were collected for every hour performed. A great number of local and foreign singers and artists participated with the group during this Music Marathon of Pop, Rock, Disco, Country & Ballroom Music played by Flame. All proceeds from this Marathon were donated to the President of the P.H.R.F. – [[Kordin]].		This was not the first time that the Flame group participated in such philantropic events. Flame’s debut record was ''Terġax Tmur'' as an A-Side and ''Ġejja l-Mummy'' as a B-side which could be a hit – was released in July 1979 and after only six weeks, it shot to the top of the Maltese Top 20 Charts & on 20 August 1979 – it occupied the Number One chart position.

The following year, the Flame’s second record single ''Uffa Ja Baħnan'' was released and again was a huge success for the group. In August 1981, Flame released their third consecutive 45 single ''Maħbuba Tiegħi'' / ''Hallelujah! Twieled il-Mulej'' , and again was in the highest positions in the local charts. In December 1996 – Flame contributed one of their compositions ''Bħal Fjur Fil-Ġnien'' as one of the 40 songs available on the double c.d. titled ''Għalina l-Anġli'' – a [[KTA Production]] - which was a great success on the Maltese Islands.
